BUYER CHECKLIST · NO SALES PRESSURE

Procurement readiness check before comparing suppliers

The lowest quotation is not necessarily the lowest delivered cost. Review five inputs that can change a supplier selection: specification, quotation basis, supply evidence, delivery and commercial terms.

Review five decision inputs

Answer using only non-confidential information. Your answers stay on this page in your browser; nothing is submitted or stored by this checklist.

0 / 5 Questions reviewed
01 Is the approved product specification documented?

Grade, drawing/revision, quantity, acceptable alternatives, certifications and the person authorized to approve equivalence.

02 Can supplier quotations be compared on the same delivered-cost basis?

Unit, currency, inclusions, freight, duties/taxes when applicable, delivery terms and the validity date are identified.

03 Is the offered source and its documentation supported by evidence?

Current manufacturer/authorized distributor route, country of origin and product-specific technical/quality records where required.

04 Has the supplier substantiated the delivery plan?

Lead time, available capacity, shipment quantities, receiving point and required delivery window are reconciled.

05 Are payment, approval and performance terms clear?

Buyer authority, payment milestones, warranty/claims, regulatory handoffs and final approval remain with qualified parties.

Your preparation summary

Complete all five questions to see a useful next-step summary.

This is a self-reported preparation checklist, not a supplier audit, legal or customs opinion, certification, procurement approval, or prediction of savings. Even five Yes answers require independent verification.

A more useful sourcing brief starts with evidence.

For a construction material package

Start with the engineer-approved item, drawing revision, required quantity, acceptable alternatives and delivery milestones. Separate technical approval from price comparison.

For ingredients and industrial parts

Define grade or part number, origin requirements, permitted substitutions, traceable documents, packaging and receiving constraints before asking suppliers to compete.

For a real purchasing decision

Compare like for like. Flag unpriced freight, missing documents, unclear inventory, payment exposure and anything that needs a qualified technical, customs or legal decision.

MILIAN GLOBAL can scope supplier discovery, written-quote normalization and delivered-cost intelligence. We do not certify products or guarantee an award, savings or availability. Project scope, fees and responsibilities are agreed in writing.
