01

Start with a specification that suppliers can quote

A useful supplier search begins with a clear purchasing brief. A photograph or catalog reference is a starting point; dimensions, material, performance and intended use establish whether an alternative is suitable. We help organize the information and distinguish required features from acceptable alternatives, so suppliers respond to the same request.

  • Product description, model or drawing; applicable technical standard and required certification.
  • Quantity, unit of measure, order frequency, packaging and acceptable substitutions.
  • Delivery address, requested date, installation needs and warranty expectations.
02

Research who is behind the offer

Supplier research should connect the legal business, the operating location and the product being offered. Where records are accessible, we review registration information and distinguish independent evidence from a company's own claims. We identify whether the counterparty is the manufacturer, an authorized distributor or another intermediary, and flag information that still needs confirmation.

  • Factory or business address, relevant contact and consistency across company documents.
  • Product documentation, certificate scope and issuing body, samples or inspection options.
  • Evidence of relevant export experience, capacity and lead time. A past shipment does not establish current stock.
03

Compare viable countries and routes

The nearest supplier and the lowest factory price are not automatically the strongest options. We consider product fit, order minimums, transport, origin documentation, destination requirements and the time available. A domestic offer can be a useful comparison alongside international options. Each route should reach the same destination under a clearly defined scope, with assumptions and missing quotes visible.

04

Make quotations comparable

We organize offers by the same specification, quantity, currency and delivery basis. The review identifies what is included, what is excluded, how long the quotation remains valid and which costs are still estimates. Supplier payment terms, production milestones, inspection, delivery responsibilities and warranty support belong in the comparison alongside price. A potential saving is only meaningful against a current, equivalent alternative.

05

A clear scope for the next decision

Depending on the agreed assignment, the sourcing review can include a requirements brief, a supplier comparison, supporting evidence, an estimated delivered-cost breakdown and a list of unresolved items. We agree the scope and Milian's fee before proceeding. The buyer approves the supplier and purchase terms; samples, inspections and specialist services are arranged according to the needs of the transaction.

Common questions

Can you review a supplier or quotation I already have?

Yes. Send the specification, quantity, destination and existing offer. We can define a review of comparable alternatives or gaps in the quotation. Remove confidential information you are not authorized to share.

Do I need to know the country I want to buy from?

No. Start with what you need and where it must arrive. Product requirements, quantities and timing help determine which markets are worth researching.
